BSF man, soldier commit suicide in J&K

Kupwara: A soldier and a BSF Constable killed themselves by using their service rifles in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. The two separate incidents occurred in Kupwara and Poonch.

Reports said that a BSF man committed suicide after shooting self to death with his service rifle in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Sources said the Border Security Force man was rushed to hospital where doctors declared him dead.

The deceased who has been identified as Head Constable Ram Kumar was posted at Branwari but killed himself in a bunker at Wyine Kupwara with 169 Battalion.

Confirming the incident, SSP Kupwara, Shri Ram Ambedkar told News Agency KNT that preliminary investigation reveals that deceased BSF man was suffering from hypertension and depression. ” A case has been registered and investigation set into motion,” he said. (KNT)

Meanwhile, another soldier Mohit Kumar posted with 39 Rashtriya Rifles died after he shot himself with his service rifle at a forward area along LoC in Mankato Sector of Poonch. (KNT)
