Srinagar: The inhabitants of Chattabal area of Srinagar here have alleged that a scholar and his associates including his brothers are grabbing the Dar-ul-Uloom in their locality, which has been constructed by locals in the area.
The locals while talking to the news agency KNO said that the scholar, who was allegedly involved in un-Islamic doings, has been threatening the locals and with the assistance of his associates and brother are grabbing the local property.
“The scholar has also cheated the government. No student is enrolled in the Dar-ul-Uloom, but the man has got ration for over 250 students from the government,” the locals said, adding that the scholar is involved in many wrongful doings.
“He was appointed as the teacher in Dar-ul-Uloom, but he never came up to the expectations as he indulged in other things including starting ‘Humsafar’, a marriage bureau and other related things,” the locals said.
“A few weeks back, the audio recordings of the ‘Scholar’ also went viral on social media, thus exposing him before the public in which he can be clearly heard giving immoral and un-Islamic teachings to the girls and woman in the name of Islam,” a local resident told KNO.
The locals sought intervention of the administration and demanded stern action against the person involved in grabbing the land and property of the local Mohalla committee.
Besides, the local residents said that he has resorted to the bungling of funds given by the locals to the Dar-ul-Uloom since 2009. “We tried to contact him several times to seek details about the funds given by the public, but he always refused to come forward to provide the details about it,” the locals said.
They said some of the persons, who are government employees and are hand-in-glove with the scholar, are also using the receipt of the Dar-ul-Uloom for tax concession.
The locals here have demanded authorities concerned to look into the matter at an earliest and ensure the Dar-ul-Uloom is removed from his clutches so that the motive behind constructing the institute is served—(KNO)
