Vijaypur, Sept 8: Expressing his serious concern, Apni Party Provincial President Jammu and Former Minister Manjit Singh today said that the Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe residential areas lack development and ignorance from the administration.
“The condition of roads in worst condition and basic amenities in areas where SC and ST population live in Bari Brahmana,” said Manjit Singh.
The Former Minister visited Badodi area of Bari Brahmana in Samba district and interacted with the people in the area. During his meeting with the people, Manjit Singh assured that he will highlight their issues before the Government.
“The road from Badodi to Tapyal and Badodi to Mohalla Gayan Chand are in shabby condition. They need maintenance and repair. Due to bad condition of roads, people face problems to travel and it has led to road mishaps,” he said.
The Apni Party Provincial President said that the Kandi belt of Samba district is facing negligence with regard to development in the area. “Despite being close to the Jammu-Pathankot Highway, these areas lack development and it is a cause of concern why these areas are being ignored by the authorities concerned,” he added.
He said that the SC and ST people have been used as vote banks by the political parties in the last seven decades.
Meanwhile, over a dozen local youth joined the Apni Party at Badodi during the meeting. Prominent Among those present are Mastar Lal Mohammed, Former Sarpanch Ajid Hussain, Gayan Chand, Bajad sahib and others.
