Admin neglects BJP from past three years: Party’s Kashmir Media In-charge

Says Omar gaining sympathy from public by vacating Govt accommodation

Srinagar: Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Kashmir Unit on Wednesday asked Omar Abdullah to shun the publicity stunts and said he was gaining sympathy by voluntarily vacating the government accommodation.

The party has also asked the former chief minister to focus on the condition of his leaders, who have served as ministers in erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir State.

Party’s Kashmir Media-in-charge, Manzoor Bhat in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that Omar Abdullah is doing publicity stunts by vacating the government’s accommodation voluntarily and was trying to be smarter.

“He should first look at his former ministers and MLAs who have been left on God’s mercy as both father and son are busy in doing publicity stunts,” he said.

As per Manzoor on Wednesday, after director estates directed them to shift their office belongings to a new office but they found that the house was occupied by Ex-J&K legislative Speaker Mubarak Gul.

“After three years of struggle, the government allotted us an office at a disputed location as it is yet to be vacated, which is very unfortunate,” he said. “We found that accommodation was not yet vacated as JKNC has neglected its own leaders. Both NC and PDP parties have well-accommodated offices, while BJP has been neglected from the past three years by the administration,” Bhat said.

“Despite repeated pleas to administration to change our office location at Jawahar Nagar as it is not secure and is always a prime target of militants and of other anti-national forces,” he said.

Bhat also urged Omar and Farooq Abdullah to shun publicity stunts and look at the condition of their workers who are living miserable lives. “We are not against providing accommodation to political leaders but the concern is that NC leadership has totally neglected their leadership,” Bhat said.

Bhat said even the Estate’s department sent 3-4 warning notices to Gul, but he is not vacating as JKNC leadership has neglected him like other leaders. “We understand everyone’s problems as they have security threats and have been not provided any government accommodation,” he said.

“We appeal to Lt Governor led administration that there are still some leaders and workers of political parties including BJP that are yet to be provided security. Every time we have to beg for their security,” he said—(KNO)
