Div Com reviews N-Railway CSR plan for Ramban, Reasi districts

JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Sanjeev Verma, today discussed the projects and development works being executed under Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) plan of Northern Railways in Ramban and Reasi districts, here at a meeting with concerned Deputy Commissioners.

Deputy Commissioner Reasi and Ramban informed about the identified projects in their respective districts.

The DC Reasi informed that four sectors have been identified in the District for development including Horticulture, Agriculture, Sports and Education, while DC Ramban apprised   that there is requirement of water supply schemes, school buildings, health infrastructure, skill development centers and stadium in hilly areas which developed through CSR initiative of Northern Railways.

Listing the requirement in Reasi, the concerned DC sought establishment of cold storage in the District for storage of Agriculture and Horticulture produce. She also informed that two sports stadiums have been proposed for the District to promote sports among youth to save them from indulging in drug abuse and other social evils. It was further informed that some school buildings are required to be renovated in the District besides there is need to establish manufacturing units of sanitary pads, skill development centres.

The Divisional Commissioner asked the DCs to make estimates of works and finalize the proposals for both the districts.

The meeting was attended by Director School Education, Anuradha Gupta, Director Horticulture, Ram Sevak, Deputy Director Planning, besides senior Officers of Northern Railways and other concerned officers. The Deputy Commissioner Reasi and Ramban attended the meeting through video conferencing.

Later, in another meeting with Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division, the Divisional Commissioner reviewed the progress on identification of land for newly sanctioned Kendriya Vidyalayas.

The Deputy Commissioners apprised the Div Com that land has been identified   in most of the cases it has been transferred to the KV authorities, while the process of preparing revenue papers for pending land sites is in progress. It was also informed that District administrations have also identified temporary buildings in the Districts to make KVs functional.

The Divisional Commissioner asked the Deputy Commissioners to expedite the process and complete the process of transfer of land at the earliest for early execution of work on Kendriya Vidyalayas.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner KVS and other concerned officers while Deputy Commissioners of Jammu Division participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
