Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday recorded another big spike of 1,686 cases of COVID-19 pandemic including 116 travelers, thus taking the total number of positive cases to 54,096 in the Union Territory. Of the total 54,096 cases, 36,708 are from Kashmir and 17,388 from Jammu division.
Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 1,686 new cases, 811 belong to Kashmir division while as 875 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 36,708 including 27,798 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 17,388 including 7,939 recoveries and 151 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 17,481 including 8,183 from Kashmir division and 9,298 from Jammu division.
With 452 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 35,737, which is 66.06 percent of the total cases.
Notably, for the first time since COVID-19 outbreak, the toll of active cases has crossed 17 thousand mark in J&K while the toll of active cases in Jammu division has surpassed the figure of recovered cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 185 from Srinagar, 158 from Budgam, 79 from Baramulla, 44 from Pulwama, 47 from Anantnag, 62 from Kupwara, 128 from Bandipora, 22 from Kulgam, 78 from Ganderbal and 08 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 875 from Jammu division include 405 from Jammu, 56 from Udhampur, 70 from Rajouri , 48 from Kuthua, 29 from Samba, 79 from Poonch, 31 from Ramban, 94 from Doda, 18 from Reasi and 45 from Kishtiwar,” officials disclosed.
As per officials figures, 11,678 positive cases including 251 deaths and 9,468 recoveries are from Srinagar, 3,741 including 71 deaths and 2,313 recoveries are from Budgam, 3,479 including 2,415 recoveries and 113 deaths are from Baramulla, 3,164 including 2,648 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Pulwama, 2,895 including 54 deaths and 2,136 recoveries are from Anantnag, 2,846 including 1,811 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Kupwara, 2,838 cases including 1,901 and 28 deaths are from Bandipora, 2,091 including 1,916 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Kulgam, 2,103 including 1,502 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Ganderbal and 1,873 including 1,688 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Ganderbal.
In Jammu division, 8,352 including 2,694 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Jammu district, 1,454 including 815 recoveries and 4 deaths are from Udhampur, 1,434 including 830 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Rajouri, 1,333 including 886 recoveries and 12 deaths are from Kathua, 1066 including 620 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Samba, 900 including 408 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Poonch, 825 including 653 recoveries and 01 death is from Ramban, 826 including 405 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Doda, 588 including 355 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Reasi and 610 including 273 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Kishtwar.
As per the daily information bulletin, 523,018 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 41,945 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 17,481 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 408,435 persons have completed surveillance period and 54,279 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,231,698 samples are available.
Out of 1,231,698 the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,177,602 while 52,410 have tested positive, among them 17,481 are active and 36,708 persons have recovered—(KNO)
