Talking to reporters on sidelines of an event organized by the party at TRC Kupwara, party’s state vice president, Sofi Yousuf as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the Gupkar declaration is mere a drama and they won’t succeed to restore article 370.

He said now when the special provisions granted have been abrogated with Jammu and Kashmir part of one Indian constitution parties have started to befool people by coming together to restore the article 370 and 35A but “I reckon they won’t succeed in that and will fail,” Yousuf said.

Sofi said both prime minister and home minister of India have clearly said in parliament that the statehood will be restored only after the situation normalizes and improves and in case the union government (BJP), fails to do it I will be the first person to hit the roads to protest along with party workers.
He said Statehood will be restored after the delimitation process only while the team has been constituted for the same, adding that the “People in absence of elected government are suffering I admit that but after the delimitation elections will be held next year possibly”.(KNO)
