JAMMU: Director Horticulture Jammu, Ram Savak today attended the Jan Abhiyan Camp here at Panchayat Ghar Mananu of block Nud and listened to the issues of the local people, including fruit growers.
Interacting with the PRI members, fruit growers and farmers of the area, he listened to their grievances and asked the department to redress the same at an earliest.
He also distributed quality fruit plants of kinnow, mango, etc. to the households of the Panchayats under the Backyard Horticulture Scheme.
District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Samba, Satish Gangwal, (Nodal Officer Jan Abhiyan, Nud Block and Chief Horticulture Officer, Samba, Anil Kumar Gorka, addressed the gathering and apprised about the ongoing developmental and welfare schemes of the department.
Chairman Block Development Council, Nud, Dev Raj; Sarpanch Panchayat Mananu, Sunil Choudhary; Kanchan Bala Sarpanch Panchayat Moutlian; Ramesh Singh, Sarpanch Panchayat Paper Avtara along with panches of these panchayats were also present in the camp.
The event was organised by DL SMS Pomology Samba, Ashwani Sharma and Horticulture Development Officer Samba, Rakesh Kumar in collaboration with the Rural Development Department and PRI members.
