Leh: Amid high drama over the poll boycott for LAHDC, Leh polls in the union territory union territory, BJP’s national general secretary Ram Madhav Thursday reached Leh to hold talks with the party leaders to decide about the LADHC election.
In a very brief conversation with media on arrival in Leh, Ram Madhav, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that he will first talk to all the party leaders only then he can tell about the filing of nomination papers and contesting of election. “Whatever is decided will be shared with the media later.”
About the demand for 6th schedule, he said whatever the decision is will be shared by tomorrow.
Meanwhile, eye witnesses told KNO that amid a shutdown in Leh over the call of merchant association Leh, protests were also held against the remarks of J&Ks BJP general secretary, Asok Koul.
The protesters took out peaceful a march and raised slogans while holding placards in their hands, the witness said.
Pertinently, an apex body of veteran leader’s, religious heads and other bodies have called for a complete poll boycott for the ensuing LADHC election.
Earlier, Ashok Koul reached Leh after BJP district president signed a joint resolution to boycott the ensuing LADHC election in view of the growing demand for 6th schedule.
It will be intresting to see what BJP decides about the ensuing LADHC polls since majority of the parties have decided not to contest the election and with this the region will also mark a maiden boycott call given by the parties—(KNO)
