Issue proper guideline for schooling amid Pandemic: Qayoom Wani

Srinagar: Chairman Jammu Kashmir civil society Forum and Former president EJAC, JKTF Abdul Qayoom Wani has expressed concern over the ambiguity of contemporary schooling system in Kashmir particularly after govt announced partial opening of schools since September 21st.
Wani said that Schooling ventures viz online classes, community classes, ‘offline classes’ have become a mess as there is much confusion among the students and teachers because of overlapping of these ventures students are confused wheather to continue online classes or take community classes or attend schools for offline classes.
Wani hailed the online initiative and community classes by Principal Secretary Education Mr Asgar Samoon Sahab but majority of schools have made it mess by opening schools in full amid rise in covid-19 and concerned local officers are mute spectators which will prove disastrous for both students and teachers if not taken seriously at this stage.
Although the pandemic COVID-19 is on rise as such it is a matter of concern to let the threat loom at large by allowing normal schooling on ground.
Wani said exam season is nearing and the need of the hour is to let the students stay home for preparations. ” There are evidences that students attend schools without following COVID SOPs which is a serious threat to both the communities teaching as well as the student.
Wani has urged upon the Commissioner Secretary Education to lssue a proper guideline for both the communities. So that confusions are cleared between counselling and class work as the latter is in vogue in many schools amid increasing COVID 19 Pandemic risking students lives. (KNS)
