Srinagar: Seventeen people died due to the dreaded virus in J&K taking the death toll due to pandemic to 1198 while as 1093 fresh cases tested positive, taking the total number of positive cases in the Union Territory to 76163.
Of the total 76,163 cases, 46,200 are from Kashmir and 29,963 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 1,093 new cases, 401 belong to Kashmir division while as 692 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 46,200 including 38,494 recoveries and 843 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 29,963 including 20,058 recoveries and 355 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 16,423 including 6,863 from Kashmir division and 9,550 from Jammu division.
With 1,680 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 58,552 which is 76.87 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 164 from Srinagar, 54 from Budgam, 39 from Baramulla, 25 from A Pulwama, 16 from Anantnag, 34 from Bandipora, 27 from Kupwara, 27 from Ganderbal, 13 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 692 from Jammu division include 490 from Jammu, 39 from Rajouri, 20 from Udhampur, 16 from Kathua, 22 from Doda, 20 from Samba, 14 from Poonch, 22 from Ramban, 00 from Reasi and 49 from Kishtiwar,” officials disclosed.
Notably, in the last 24 hours, 17 persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include 04 from Kashmir division and 13 from Jammu division.
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include two from Budgam and one each from Anantnag and Pulwama in Kashmir division while as 13 from Jammu division include eight from Jammu district, three from Doda and one each from Samba and Poonch.
As per officials figures, 15,046 positive cases including 292 deaths and 12,696 recoveries are from Srinagar, 4,925 including 84 deaths and 3,970 recoveries are from Budgam, 4,427 including 2,971 recoveries and 124 deaths are from Baramulla, 3,967 including 3,488 recoveries and 69 deaths are from Pulwama, 3,535 including 66 deaths and 3,043 recoveries are from Anantnag, 3,434 including 2,969 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,640 cases including 2,832 and 67 deaths are from Kupwara, 2,918 including 2,563 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,279 including 2,122 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,029 including 1,840 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 13,505 including 9,923 recoveries and 192 deaths are from Jammu district, 2,692 including 1,466 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,273 including 1,706 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,079 including 1,563 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kathua, 2,233 including 1,233 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Doda, 1,782 including 1000 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Samba, 1,788 including 819 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Poonch, 1,357 including 1100 recoveries and 10 deaths are from Ramban, 964 including 559 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Reasi and 1,290 including 689 recoveries and 07 deaths are from Kishtwar.
As per the daily information bulletin, 579,313 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 15,446 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 16,413 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 495,469 persons have completed surveillance period and 50,787 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,643,722 samples are available.
Out of 1,643,722 the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,567,559 while 76,163 have tested positive, among them 16,413 are active, 58,552 persons have recovered and 1,198 persons have died—(KNO)
