DDC polls ‘litmus test’ for PAGD to prove its worth: Mukhtar Abbass Naqvi

Srinagar: Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbass Naqvi Friday hit out at People’s Allaince for Gupkar Declaration, saying the upcoming DDC polls are “litmus test”for the alliance to prove its worth in public. He added electorates will teach PAGD a lesson against what the dynastic politics did with people of J&K during last seven decades.

According toKashmir News Service (KNS), the Union Minister who was addressing a convention of Bharatiya Janata Party workers in Balhama area in south Kashmir’s Pampore area said the upcoming District Development Council (DDC) polls are a “litmus test” for PADG whose intent behind the alliance is to stoke uncertainty in the region.

He said that motive behind the conduct of DDC polls is that there should be people’s participation in the political process, however, leaders of PAGD are trying to mislead common people and are becoming a hurdle in the political and democratic process.

“PAGD is leaving no stone unturned to mislead people in the name of Article 370. The alliance knew that the decisions of last year cannot be reversed, are now creating troubles in democratic process”, Naqvi said.

“These leaders earlier boycotted democratic exercises and were threatening New Delhi about restoration of Article 370 and on the issue of tricolor, but now they did a pact in the name of PAGD and decided to contest polls which will be the last nail in the coffin of alliance”, the Union Minister said.

He added that time has come to end this dynastic politics in Jammu and Kashmir which plundered the resources from last seven decades and hoodwinked people while selling dreams.

He said the funds allocated by New Delhi for development and welfare for common people during last 70 year in J&K were looted by these dynastic politics and made the life of their kith and kin luxurious. He added even if half of that funds would have been utilised on ground, the roads of J&K would have been of gold plated.

He added, “these leaders have to pay back every single penny and answer those wrongdoings that left common people to suffer immensely and due to which they remained away from mainstream”.

He at the occasion appealed common people to come forward and vote & support the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir to ensure all inclusive development and welfare of all communities of society. (KNS)
