Nepal approves emergency use of Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine for 18 plus

Kathmandu: Nepal’s Department of Drug Administration (DDA) has approved conditional permission for emergency use authorization of Russia’s Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine for all above the age of 18.

“It is to notify to all concerned that the conditional permission has been granted for Emergency Use Authorization of Gam-COVID-Vac Combination vector vaccine to prevent coronaviral infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus (Sputnik V),” Russian news agency Sputnik quoted DDA’s statement as saying, which was issued on Monday.

It said the Russian vaccine could be used to inoculate adults over 18-year-old.

Nepal have reported 287,567 COVID cases while 3,102 people have died till April 20.
