PM gives clarion call to IPS Probrs to work towards building a positive image for police in Public

Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday gave a clarion call to IPS Probationers to work towards building a constructive and positive image for police in public.

Mr Modi interacted virtually with the IPS Probationers of the 71st and 72nd batch, at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), in the backdrop of the Passing Out Parade (pop) scheduled to be held at the Academy on August 6.

The Prime Minister said that the IPS Probationers are the flag bearers of `Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ – keeping national perspective in the discharge of duty.

He also stressed on the importance of technology in policing and efficient service delivery and called for adopting scientific approach to investigation especially for solving new age crimes of Cybercrime and Financial frauds which are not bounded by borders.

A total of 178 probationers would be passing out from the Academy on August 6, which include 33 lady probationers and 34 probationers from friendly foreign countries of Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives and Mauritius.

The 71st batch probationers currently undergoing phase II training at the Academy consists of 21 probationers including 6 lady probationers and 14 probationers from foreign countries.

The 72nd batch of IPS probationers passing out from the Academy, consists of 157 probationers including 27 lady probationers and 20 probationers from friendly foreign countries, a SVPNPA release here said.
