2nd Test, Day 5: India 286/8 at Lunch, lead by 259 runs

Lord’s: India were 286/8 at Lunch in the second innings against England on last day of the second Test here on Monday.

India lead by 259 runs.

Bumrah (30) and Shami (52) not out were at the crease when the Lunch was declared.

The tailenders did a magnificent job putting up 77 runs on the board for the 9th wicket.

It was Shami at his best bringing up his only second Test century 52 off 67 balls with 5 fours and a six while from the other end equally supported by Bumrah who also added valuable runs 30 off 58 balls with 2 fours.

Earlier, on day four India were 181 for six in their second innings at stumps, taking a 154-run lead.

Rishabh Pant and Ishant Sharma carried forward day five morning session batting at 14 and 4, but could add 8 and 12 runs on day 5 losing their wickets to Robinson.

Pant 22 off 46 balls with one four while Sharma 16 off 24 balls with 2 fours.

For England, Wood 3/51, Robinson 2/41, Ali 2/84 and Curran 1/42 were the wicket-takers.
