Three notorious drug peddlers arrested in central Kashmir’s Badgam

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday arrested three notorious drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession in central district of Badgam.

A police spokesman said this evening that a naka checkpoint established at Dafpora Nasrullapora by police during which a vehicle with three persons on board was intercepted.

During the search of the vehicle police recovered 2.80 grams of Heroin, 5 Kgs of codeine based syrup in a plastic container, 2 bottles of codeine and 471 Alprazolam tablets, he said the accused were identified as Jahangir Ahmad Mugloo alias Jan Kandeel resident of Putlibagh, Firdous Ahmad Dar resident of Nasrullapora and Manzoor Ahmad Dar alias Jakass resident of Nasrullapora Budgam.   Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 276/2021 under relevant sections of law  has been registered at Police Station Budgam and further investigation set into motion.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
