New Delhi: Terming BJP’s ‘Jan Aashirwad Yatras’ a success, party President J P Nadda on Saturday said it has left the Opposition ‘disturbed and nervous’ and also mentioned the Shiv Sena’s attack on minister Narayan Rane.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Nadda said the ‘Yatra’ covered 24,000 kms in 14 days in which over 5,000 programmes were organised.
“The ‘Jan Aashirwad Yatras’ by the newly appointed 39 Union Ministers in the Narendra Modi government has been appreciated widely across the country. The people of India across the states have heartily welcomed the new Ministers and lauded the Bharatiya Janata Party government,” Nadda said in a statement.
He said the success of the programme has left the Opposition disturbed, and Shiv Sena targeting Narayan Rane in Maharashtra was a result of that.
“The highly successful ‘Jan Aashirwad Yatras‘ across the country has left the Opposition parties disturbed and nervous and they unsuccessfully tried to disturb and create hindrances in our Yatra and programmes,” he said.
“We have all seen how the Opposition parties coalition government in Maharashtra tried to target our Union Minister Shri Narayan Rane ji. It is a direct attack on our democratic system. The people’s support forced all narrow minded Opposition parties and our political adversaries to retreat,” he said.
Rane was cornered by the Shiv Sena after he made comments against Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray during a Jan Aashirwad Yatra. He was arrested and protests were held across the state by Shiv Sena workers.
Nadda also said the success of the ‘yatra’ is proof of the nation’s development journey.
“The tremendous success of the ‘Jan Aashirwad Yatras‘ are also proof of the ‘Vikas Yatra’ that the country has seen under the dynamic and decisive leadership of our Honourable Prime Minister and the trust and support of all his Cabinet Ministers,” he said.
Jan Ashirwad Yatras were carried out by 39 newly appointed Union Ministers across 22 states, and was started on August 16.
