Jammu: Kashmiri Pandit teacher who was allegedly shot dead by militants in Srinagar yesterday was cremated in Jammu today.
Hundreds of mourners participated in the cremation of Deepak Chand who along with his school principal Supinder Kour was killed by militants in Srinagar yesterday in the premises of a school at Sangam Idgah area of Srinagar.
Eyewitnesses told news agency Kashmir News Trust the cremation of slain teacher was performed at Shaktinagar cremation ground Jammu in presence of hundreds of people including top leaders of political parties.
The slain teacher was the resident of Patoli Jammu. He is survived by his wife Anuradha and mother Kanta Devi.
Jammu & Kashmir BJP president Ravinder Raina, who attended the funeral, told reporters that a befitting reply will be given to the perpetrators of these heinous attacks on unarmed and innocent minority people in Kashmir by militants of The Resistance Front. (KNT)
