Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati on Saturday demanded a ban on all poll survey before 6 months of any elections to prevent political parties from influencing the voters.
She also announced that if BSP is voted to power in UP, then all the developmental projects, particularly related to the upliftment of religious places will continue.
Addressing a mammoth gathering at the Kanshi Ram Memorial here on Saturday on the occasion of 15th death anniversary of BSP founder Kanshi Ram, Ms Mayawati fiercely attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party as well as the Samajwadi Party, Congress and AAP.
After paying tribute to Kanshi Ram, her political mentor, Mayawati said that, “I will demand the Election Commission to stop the election survey. The survey should stopped 6 months before the elections,” she said.
Mayawati said that the people of Uttar Pradesh are now remembering the BSP regime. “Here the public has seen the drama of the Bharatiya Janata Party as well as the Samajwadi Party and the Congress. The people of our party should also beware of their plays and gimmicks,” she said.
The BSP president said that, “In 2007, there was a majority government of BSP in the state. We had given excellent law and order to Uttar Pradesh. I appeal to the people of UP not to spoil their vote by voting in favor of BJP.”
Mayawati said that this time when her government is formed in UP, emphasis will be on providing bread and livelihood to the poor and the unemployed youth here. This time too employment will also be the main election issue of the party.
“Whatever schemes are being implemented by the present Central and the state governments, they will not be stopped by the spirit of revenge” she said, adding that BJP, SP and Congress are making false promises to the public for votes only.
“They don’t have any power at all. All the opposition parties are going to make tempting election promises in their election manifestos,” she said.
In view of the 2022 assembly elections, the BSP chief had already instructed party workers to celebrate Kanshi Ram’s death anniversary in a big way this year.
Mayawati had asked the workers of all 75 districts to come to Lucknow. For this reason a large crowd gathered in the function. This was the biggest gathering of BSP workers in Lucknow after the corona pandemic.
