Bear stuck in a well found dead in Kashmir

Srinagar: A wild bear was on Wednesday retrieved dead from a 20 feet deep well in which he was stuck at Lolab in frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara.
Official sources, the bear was stuck in a 20-feet well at Kumar Mohalla locality in Wani dorusa- Lolab on Tuesday was found dead when retrieved by the locals this morning.
They said the wild animal had got trapped in the well after it slipped while crossing over a makeshift covering of the well.
The incident has raised a question mark on the Wildlife Department, who are being alleged to have ‘failed to save the animal despite being informed on time, alleged by the local people of the area..
Locals people alleged that the Wildlife Department was informed about the incident but they did not rescue the bear on time.
