Kushinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday alleged that the policy of the government which was here before 2017 was to give a free hand to the mafia and openly loot while calling themselves Samajwadi, while in reality they were “Pariwarwadi”.
Without taking any names, PM Modi said , “Today, under the leadership of Yogi ji, the mafia has been apologizing here and the mafia is also suffering the most.” Similarly the previous governments were just engaged in scams and supporting criminals. They were calling themselves Samajwadi( socialists) but they turned into Parivarwadi( Dynasty politics)”.
He also claimed that women have benefitted the most under the BJP rule by getting houses, LPG and power connections and toilets on their names, which is a big honour and respect to them.
Addressing a big pubic meeting here after inaugurating and laying foundation of 12 projects worth over Rs 345 crores including a Rs 280 and 500 bedded new medical college in the district, Mr Modi said now the dreams of the people of Kushinagar and Poorwanchal is being fulfilled and now they could dream more. “When basic facilities are available, then the courage to dream big and the spirit to fulfill the dreams is born”.
He said,” Lohia ji used to say that – connect karma with compassion, connect it with full compassion.”
“But those who were running the government earlier did not care about the pain of the poor, the earlier government linked their karma with scams and crimes. But this double engine government is improving the situation with double strength.,” he claimed
Announcing that the central government has started another scheme which is going to open new doors of prosperity in the rural areas of Uttar Pradesh in future, PM said, “This scheme is- PM Swamitva Yojana. Under this scheme, the work of giving home ownership documents to the households of the village has been started which will benefit the people for getting loan against their houses and other benefits,’ he said.
Talking about the importance of UP in the country, he said ,”one thing is always said about Uttar Pradesh that it is a state which has given maximum number of prime ministers to the country. This is the specialty of UP, but the identity of UP cannot be seen only in this realm.”
He said UP cannot be confined to 6-7 decades as the state is a region where there are pilgrimages at every step, and there is energy in every particle. This is a land whose history is timeless, whose contribution is timeless.
“Lord Rama incarnated on this land, Lord Shri Krishna incarnated here. The work of penning the Vedas and Puranas was done here in Naimisharanya. In Awadh region itself, there is a pilgrimage like Ayodhya here. If you look at the medieval period, Yugnayak like Tulsidas and Kabirdas were also born in this soil. This state has also got the privilege of giving birth to a social reformer like Sant Ravidas. 18 Tirthankaras out of 24 of Jainism had incarnated in Uttar Pradesh itself. Our glorious Sikh Guru tradition also has a deep connection with Uttar Pradesh. The ‘Guru Ka Taal’ Gurdwara in Agra is still a witness to the glory of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, his valor where he challenged Aurangzeb,” he said.
The PM claimed, “The government of double engine is setting new records of procurement from farmers here. ” So far, about Rs 80,000 crore has reached the bank accounts of the farmers of UP for the purchase of the produce and more than Rs 37,000 crore has been deposited in the bank accounts of UP farmers from PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.”
PM said the one who is homeless, is in a slum, when he gets a pucca house, when the house has a toilet, electricity connection, gas connection, water comes from the tap, then the confidence of the poor increases further.
