J&K begins process to attach property of militant involved in killing of Pandit

Srinagar: J&K government has begun the process for attachment of property of militant Adil Wani who was allegedly involved in the killing of a Kashmiri Pandit in Shopian district on Tuesday morning.
Police has also arrested Adil’s three brothers on charges of harbouring him after he killed Sunil Kumar Bhat and injured his brother in an orchard in Shopian.
Police said two militants were involved in the attacks on minority community members.
“During initial investigation, involvement of an active terrorist, Adil Ahmad Wani of Kutpora surfaced. Meanwhile, an input was received by Police and Security Forces regarding the presence of accused Adil at his ancestral house at Kutpora,” a police spokesman said.
Police, Army and CRPF soon launched a cordon and a search operation in the area at wee hours on August 17.
“During search, terrorist lobbed grenade on the search party which was retaliated by search party. However, terrorist escaped taking benefit of darkness,” he said.
During the search the security forces later found a hideout in the house at rooftop where one AK rifle along with a magazine and one pistol was found in the hideout, police said
Consequent, three brother of Adil were arrested for harbouring terrorists
Police said a Special Investigation Team has been constituted to probe the cases.
