Hideouts busted, arms and ammunition recovered in Kashmir

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army on Thursday busted a number of militant hideouts and recovered incriminating material and arms and ammunition in Kashmir valley.
A Joint teams of Baramulla Police and 52 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) on specific information launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the Dudbug -TY Shah Forest area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district early Thursday morning.

During the search operation, two boxes of ammunition including 1460 bullets of AK 47 and 1 cracked bag were recovered from an underground hideout under a tree.

“The timely recovery of huge ammunition has thwarted any possible untoward incident and has scuttled the nefarious plans of militant outfits to derail peace and harmony in the Kashmir Valley,” the police said.
Based on a credible input, the police in Awantipora, along with Army’s 42 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), busted a terrorist hideout in the forest area of Syedabad Pastuna Tral which was subsequently destroyed, the police added.
“Incriminating materials of proscribed terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and materials like edible items, utensils etc. were recovered from the said hideout,” they further said.
All the recovered materials have been taken into police custody for the purpose of investigation.
A case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Tral and further investigation is in progress.
