Kerala CM receives Amit Shah

Thiruvananthapuram: Union Home Minister Amit Shah who reached here to inaugurate the South Indian Chief Ministers’ Conference, was received by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at Kovalam Leela Raviz on Friday.

The Home Minister who is on a two-day visit to the State was given a rousing reception by hundreds of BJP workers on his arrival at the Airport here this evening.

Amit Shah will inaugurate the South Indian Chief Ministers Conference here tomorrow.

Chief Ministers from various South Indian States are expected to attend the conference in this Capital City.

On Saturday, Amit Shah will inaugurate BJP’s Convention of Scheduled Caste at Alsaj Convention Centre, Kazhakootam.

In view of Amit Shah’s visit to Kovalam, strict traffic restrictions are being imposed in nearby places.

Though Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan invited Amit Shah to attend the annual Nehru Trophy Boat Race in Alappuzha, the programe did not include in his two-day busy schedule due to security reasons.

The Chief Minister’s invitation to Amit Shah has courted a controversy after the Opposition Congress alleged that the CPM and the BJP were involved in a secret political understanding.
