SP a sinking ship, BJP will win all 80 seats in UP: SPS Baghel

Auraiya (UP): Union Minister SP Singh Baghel on Tuesday termed Samajwadi Party (SP) a sinking ship and claimed that the opposition will be wiped out in Uttar Pradesh in 2024 Lok Sabha elections and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will win all 80 seats.
Baghel, who was here to attend a private function in Bidhuna tehsil, said that in the 2024 Lok Sabha election BJP will win all 80 seats in the state. “I am not speaking like SP president Akhilesh Yadav claimed to win 401 out of 403 seats before the 2022 assembly elections.”
He said, “In 2019 Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) won 10 and SP 5 when both the parties contested in an alliance. But out of 5 seats won by SP our candidates won by-elections for Rampur and Azamgarh seats. This time we will also win Mainpuri and Sambhal seats.”
Baghel said that in the last five years Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (PSP) president Shivpal Yadav has proved to be the weakest leader. “He was removed from the post of minister during the SP government in 2012, then he was removed from the post of state president. He formed his own party and in 2022 forged an alliance with Akhilesh. First he asked for 80 seats, then 70, then 60 and finally he came to one seat, but he didn’t get even that Shivpal was made SP candidate,” he said.
Attacking Congress, he said that the party candidates failed to save even their deposits in Etawah and adjoining districts in the last elections. “They failed to secure Amethi seats. Congress has become history now,” he said.
