Jammu: A minor fire broke out on Sunday in one of the blocks of All India Institute of Medical Sciences at Vijaypur in Samba district of Jammu region, said an official.
She said that no injury has been reported in the incident.
“There was a minor fire incident on the first floor of OPD Block of AIIMS Jammu due to welding,” said an official, adding that due to ongoing fitting work of air conditioning in the block, the material caught fire.
“Acting swiftly, the fire tenders reached in time and doused the flames and prevented them from spreading to nearby blocks,” she said and added that no major loss or injury was reported.
However, Dr Shakti Gupta, Executive Director and CEO AIIIMS Jammu said that the SOPs will be reviewed tomorrow along with CPWD and Contractor and a report will be submitted accordingly.
