CBI raids 19 locations, recovers Rs 20 cr in an alleged disproportionate assets case

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday conducted searches at around 19 locations and recovered around Rs 20 crore in connection with a case related to alleged possession of disproportionate assets by former CMD, Water and Power Consultancy Services (India) Limite, WAPCOS which comes under Ministry of Jal Shakti.
CBI has registered a case against former CMD, Water and Power Consultancy Services (India) Limited (WAPCOS, a Govt of India Undertaking under Ministry of Jal Shakti) and his family members on the allegations of possessing disproportionate assets, Central probe agency said in a statement.
Searches were conducted at around 19 locations including Delhi, Chandigarh, Gurugram, Sonipat and Ghaziabad at the residential, commercial premises belonging to the accused.
During searches, cash of around Rs 20 crore, incriminating documents and digital devices were recovered from the possession of the accused, it said.
The CBI said that a probe is underway.
