Kiren Rijiju launches trailer of “Love in 90’s”

New Delhi: Union Minister for Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju on Saturday launched the much-awaited trailer of the upcoming Arunachali movie ‘Love in 90’s’, directed by Tapen Natam at the National Media Centre here.

The movie is based on the Tagin community in Arunachal Pradesh. The trailer was launched in presence of Tapen and playback singer Mohit Chauhan. Bollywood megastar Salman Khan also shared a video message for the movie.

The trailer showcases the vibrant and colorful world of the 90s. ‘Love in 90’s’ is a movie based on the Tagin community in the Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh. The film brings the rich culture, tradition, and local movie-making initiatives of the frontier state to the national stage.

Speaking on the occasion, Tapen expressed his excitement about the project and said, “This is the first trailer launch of Tagin movie in Delhi. This is a very proud moment for me.”

“I am thrilled to finally share a glimpse of our movie with the world. Love in 90’s is a realistic romantic movie that captures the essence of young love in a nostalgic and relatable way,” he added.

Rijiju, who represents the Arunachal West parliamentary seat, said, “This is a humble beginning. The target is bigger. To present the culture and tradition in front of the people is a very big thing.”

“We have to take our culture forward through creativity. We have to be connected to our roots,” the Minister said.

“It is a matter of pride that we are at a time when all communities of India are truly being given an opportunity to shine under the visionary leadership of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We, as a country must watch, support and encourage our own people to showcase our rich culture and communities. And being the first ever film from the Tagin community in Arunachal, filmed entirely in Tagin language, I feel proud to be part of this historical event,” he added.

Rijiju also informed that the movie movie is likely to be released in June.

“This is a milestone in the history of Arunachal Pradesh. Everyone should watch the film. I extend my warm wishes to the entire team of ‘Love in 90’s’,” Salman said in his video message.

Mohit said, “I wish all the best to the Director. I hope this movie will be watched across the globe.This is an important step to preserve the culture. This is a milestone.”

The singer also enthralled the gathering with his mesmerising performance.

The movie sheds light on the love story of two young people amidst the challenges faced by their community in Arunachal Pradesh during the 1990s.

This film not only celebrates local talent and movie-making initiatives but also offers a unique perspective on the struggles and triumphs of the Tagin community. Through this film, audiences can witness the beauty of Tagin culture and traditions, and gain a deeper appreciation for the rich heritage of the region.

The film has a run time of two hours, and is scheduled for release in the first week of June.
