Srinagar: An earthquake of moderate intensity jolted the parts of Kashmir valley on Monday, officials said.
The magnitude of the earthquake was measured on the Richter scale as 3.1 with the epicentre at 34.16 in the north and 74.56 in the east. The tremors were felt in Srinagar and other parts of the Kashmir valley with a big bang for a few seconds.
The tremors were felt at 2.28 pm with the 10km depth north east of Baramulla .
People at some places came out of their houses in pani.
There was no report of loss of life or damage to property.
