Intruder shot dead near LoC in Poonch: Sources

Jammu: Alert Army troops on Saturday morning neutralised one Pakistani intruder near the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources said on seeing a suspicious movement close to the LoC, troops opened fire and shot dead one intruder while he was crossing on this side of the border.

As per reports, some explosives and narcotics were found from his possession, but the matter is being investigated, they said.

The area has been cordoned while the search operation is in progress, sources added.

Notably, security across the Jammu and Kashmir has been beefed up in view of G20 events scheduled to begin from May 22 in the Valley.
