PM Modi meets prominent Australian personalities in Sydney

New Delhi/Sydney: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met several prominent Australian personalities in separate meetings in Sydney.
These personalities include:
1. Professor Brian P. Schmidt, Noble laureate in Physics and Vice-Chancellor & President of Australian National University, Canberra.
PM Modi in a tweet on the meeting said: “Had an excellent conversation on science and innovation with Nobel Laureate Dr. Brian Paul Schmidt. His work on these subjects has been rich and shaped academic discourse greatly.”
2. Mark Balla, business specialist and accomplished public speaker on humanitarian issues
In a tweet, PM Modi said:
“Mark Balla has done commendable work on a topic I am very passionate about – access to sanitation. People know him as a ‘Toilet Warrior’. Was wonderful interacting with him earlier today.”
3. Danielle Mate Sullivan, aboriginal artist
PM Modi tweeted: “It was wonderful to learn more about Australian art from Ms. Danielle Mate. Her efforts to popularise traditional forms of art are noteworthy.”
4. Sarah Todd, international chef, restaurateur, TV host, speaker and entrepreneur
PM Modi: “Sarah Todd, the celebrity chef, is very passionate about India, which was reflected in her deep knowledge about our cuisine, spices and more. Had an excellent interaction with her in Sydney.”
5. Professor Toby Walsh, chief scientist, Artificial Intelligence Institute, University of New South Wales, Sydney
PM Modi: “Had a fascinating discussion on different frontiers of AI and futuristic technology with Mr. @TobyWalsh. One can clearly see his passion towards AI and the need to ensure it is harnessed for human progress.”
6. Associate Professor Salvatore Babones, sociologist, researcher and author
PM Modi said: “Professor @ProfBabones is now a popular name in India. Had a good meeting with him and heard his insightful views on several subjects.”
Babones in a tweet said: ”Honored and humbled. Thank you

7. Guy Theodore Sebastian, leading Australian singer
PM Modi tweeted: “Guy Sebastian is a remarkable singer and has unparalleled passion towards music. In addition, he is passionate about social service as well. I was glad to have interacted with him today. “
Sebastian in a tweet said: “What an honour. I will treasure this forever. My parents and family members in India are on cloud nine.”
Prime Minister congratulated them on their achievements and encouraged them to contribute to strengthening the India-Australia relationship.
