Around 335 athletes take part in ‘My Youth My Pride’ at Jammu’s Akhnoor

Jammu: Nearly 335 athletes on Friday took part in ‘My Youth My Pride’—Phase-3 event organised as part of G20 celebrations under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council at Indoor Sports Club, Aknoor here in the city outskirts.

The competitions were held in the disciplines of Badminton and Judo (Boys & Girls) supervised by the District Sports Committee headed by Manager M A Stadium Satpal Singh and coaches comprising Pawan Deep Kour (Athletics), Vinay Sharma (Handball), Rachna Jamwal (Fencing),

Ritika Slathia.(Judo), Divum Gupta (Badminton) and Davinder Singh (Hockey) under the guidance

of Secretary J&K Sports Council Nuzhat Gul.

Akhnoor Indoor Sports Complex (JKSC) Incharge Jugal Kishore and Zonal Physical Education Officer Akhnoor Zone Ashok Kumar also jointly contributed in conducting the activities.

Around 335 athletes took part in twin disciplines amidst the presence of officials and spectators.

However, as per results, in Badminton category (Singles), Varun defeated Anmol in a close contest (21-15,16-21, 21-7) to win the match and in doubles category, Varun and Anmol dup outclassed Rupesh and Rytham 21-17, 21-11.

In Judo Judo discipline, Daksh bagged top position by defeating Nitish in 30-kg weight, Amrinder Singh Dalia beat Divyansh Verma in 35-kg weight, Sakasham Vaid beat Sagar Vaid in 40-kg weight.

In open boys category, Bhavansh Raj Singh won the bout by defeating Aaditya Gill and in Girls Open Category, Harman Deep Kour beat Simran Jeet Kour.
