Delhi Court allows NOC application of Rahul for issuance of Fresh Passport in National Herald case

New Delhi: A Delhi Court after a hearing on Friday allowed no objection certificate’s (NOC) application of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for issuance of a fresh ordinary passport in the National Herald Case.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vaibhav Mehta after the hearing partly allowed the application of Rahul Gandhi for issuance of a fresh ordinary passport to him for 3 years only, when he surrendered his diplomatic passport due to being disqualified as a Member of Parliament (MP) on March, 26 after being convicted in a criminal defamation case by Surat Court.

Rahul Gandhi moved an application in the National Herald case which was filed by Former MP Subramanian Swamy against him.

Rahul along with his mother Sonia Gandhi, was granted bail in the National Herald case in the month of December 2015.

Swamy opposed the application of Gandhi by submitting that he had no valid reason for the issuance of a passport to him.

Counsel for Swamy contended that the Application is devoid of any merit for issuance of a Passport.
