Kishan Reddy criticises Telangana CM for skipping NITI Aayog meeting

Hyderabad: Union Minister of Tourism and Culture G Kishan Reddy on Saturday criticised Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) for skipping the NITI Aayog meeting.

Speaking to reporters at the BJP state headquarters here, Reddy questioned KCR’s priorities and emphasised on the importance of attending the NITI Aayog meeting.

He stated that Telangana incurred a significant loss due to the Chief Minister’s absence.

Reddy challenged KCR to be prepared for discussions regarding the central aid provided to Telangana.

Furthermore, he expressed discontent with the Telangana government, alleging that it had transformed into a real estate company.

He urged KCR not to push the state further into debt and commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts in fostering unity among all states.

Criticising the state government for accumulating excessive debt, he drew attention to the government’s negligence towards farmers’ issues, pointing out delays in the disbursement of funds under the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme.

Further, Reddy noted that the state had an annual interest payment of Rs 20,000 crores on old debts, with a total debt of Rs 3.50 lakh crores based on the state government’s calculations.

Expressing concern over the cancellation of GO 111 and its potential impact on Hyderabad, Reddy accused KCR of prioritizing land allocation for party offices over the needs of the poor.

He specifically highlighted the allocation of 10 acres to the Congress party for their offices while denying three acres to Dalits.
