PM Modi to virtually lay foundation stones for upgrading Rly Stns in Karnataka

Hubballi: Foundation stones will be laid virtually by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the upgradation of six railway stations in the Hubballi division of the South Western Railway (SWR) on August 6 at an estimated cost of Rs 113.4 crores as part of the Amrit Bharat Station scheme.
Addressing a press conference here today, Hubballi Divisional Railway Manager Harsh Khare said that the six stations to be upgraded are Ballary, Koppal, Gadag, Gokak Road, Alnanavar and Ghataprabha.
He also added that once ready by January 2024, the redeveloped stations will have modern amenities such as waiting halls, wi-fi, lift and escalators, among other facilities.
He said 10 more stations have been identified for upgradation under the scheme in Hubballi division. While a total of Rs 257 crores will be spent for the redevelopment of stations in the division for the financial year 2023-24, the DRM added.
Khare also said that both Vasco–da–Gama and SSS Hubballi Stations have been selected for major upgradation soon, and the details of which are being worked out.
