DGP sanctions Spl welfare relief of over 1.01 Cr, Also sanctions financial assistance for slain cop’s daughter

Srinagar: Director General J&K Police Dilbag Singh on Monday sanctioned Special Welfare Relief of over rupees 1.01 Cr for the next of kin of seven deceased police personnel/SPOs vide different orders
According to a statement issued from Police Media Centre, PHQ J&K Srinagar, the Special Welfare Relief of rupees 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased police personnel ASI Bashir Ahmad, ASI Sansar Chand, SgCt Nazir Ahmad and Follower Sohan Singh who passed away while in service. Besides, Rs one Lac each has been already paid to the NoK of deceased police personnel for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the PHQ through their concerned units. The financial assistance has been given out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund.
Police Chief has also sanctioned special relief of Rupees 6 Lac each in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased SPO Zahoor Ahmad and SPO Abdul Khaliq who passed away during their engagement with the department. The financial assistance has been given out of the Contributory Welfare Fund of SPOs. Moreover the DGP has sanctioned Rs one Lac as financial assistance in favour of the daughter of a slain police official to defray the expenses in connection with the marriage ceremony of his daughter. The amount has been given out of the Police Pariwar Fund. PHQ in its statement also said that many initiatives have been taken by it to ensure increased and timely help and assistance to Police personnel and their families, in the time of need.
