“Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign: Police organises events at police establishments across valley

Srinagar : As a part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, Police on Friday organised various events to observe “Meri Maati Mera Desh-Mitti Ko Naman Veroon Ka Vandan” a nationwide campaign at various Police establishments across the Kashmir valley. The campaign witnessed a range of impactful activities and gained momentum on day 3 with a series of events across the valley.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, in Awantipora, police in collaboration with District Administration organised a huge Tiranga Rally, which started from Police Lines Awantipora and culminated at IUST Awantipora. Students, general Public, scores of youths from different areas of district besides, officers/officials of police and civil department participated.
Besides in Anantnag, police in memory of veers and brave hearts who laid down their lives for the nation have organised various programmes throughout the district, in which police, students and general public participated.
Moreover in Baramulla also, police organised Tiranga Rally in all police establishments across the district in which SDPOs, SHOs, IC PPs and police personnel of District participated besides, CRPF, BSF, SSB, HG & school children joined the rally. The main function was held at DPL Baramulla where Tiranga Rally was kick started and joined by SSP Baramulla Shri Amod Ashok Nagapure-IPS and culminated at Govt Boys Hr Secondary School Baramulla.
Meanwhile in Bandipora, Police organised series of events under the aegis of “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign which include plantation drives, Panch Pran Pledge, Tiranga rallies and hoisting of National Flag ceremonies at various police establishments across the district.
Similarly in Budgam, police under the aegis of ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ organised various programmes throughout the district, in which police, students and general public participated. Plantation drives were organised at Police Station Char-i-Sharief, PS Pakherpora & PS Khag. Unity rallies were organised in Magam and Narbal in which PRI members, citizens from diverse backgrounds and school children joined hands to celebrate the strength of unity. ‘Panch Pran Pledge’ ceremonies were also organised in various police units. Moreover, ceremonies were organised to honour brave Veers at Budgam, Soibug and Humhama who have sacrificed their lives to protect people. Diyas Lighting Ceremonies were also organised at Chadoora and Mochua Police Stations.
Besides in Shopian, SSP Shopian Ms Tanushree-IPS led a Tiranga March through the streets of town Shopian with an aim to promote unity, Patriotism and Community engagement. The Tiranga March was attended by all officers of the district including ASP Shopian, DySP Hqrs Shopian, DySP DAR DPL Shopian besides, more than two hundred school children and general public also participated in the said Tiranaga March.
Similarly in Pulwama, “Panch Pran Pledge” ceremony was observed across the district and the main function was held at DPL Pulwama. Moreover, plantation drive was organised in all police establishments across the district. The main plantation drive was held at DPL Pulwama, launched by SSP Pulwama Shri Mohd Yousuf-JKPS.
Furthermore in Sopore, “Panch Pran Pledge” ceremony across Police District Sopore was observed. The main function was held at DPO Sopore where SSP Sopore Shri Shabir Nawab-JKPS read out the pledge. After pledge, SSP Sopore also briefed the officers/officials and explained the meaning as well as purpose of the pledge of Panch Pran, with focus to make India a developed country, eliminate the mentality of slavery, be proud of our rich heritage, uphold unity and solidarity, fulfil duties as citizens, and respect those who protect the nation.
Similarly in Ganderbal, Police held ‘Panch Pran Pledge’ ceremony in all police establishments across the district. The main Pledge ceremony was observed at DPL Ganderbal. On the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS, DySP Hqrs Ganderbal administers the Pledge to officers and Jawans. Besides in Srinagar, police organized Tiranga rallies and hoisting of National Flag ceremonies at different police establishments/Units across the district.
