Itanagar: Of late, Reliance Jio has launched its 4G network services in Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh bordering China. The service would offer faster internet speed, official sources said on Saturday.
The formal launch was done by Tawang MLA Tsering Tashi on Saturday in a function organized at Tawang Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall which was attended by DC in-charge Rinchin Leta, Commander of Tawang Brigade, Head of Offices and representatives from the Central Armed Police Forces.
Speaking on the occasion, the local legislator conveyed gratitude to Reliance Jio for making its services possible in Tawang despite lots of challenges. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the remote localities of the country are being connected digitally and this is a very important step towards achieving the goal of Atma Nirbhar Bharat.
He also expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Pema Khandu and IT deptt of the government of Arunachal Pradesh for expediting the progress of work for connecting Tawang with Jio service. He expressed hope that Jio will upgrade its services and will connect the entire district at the earliest.
Chief Technical Officer of Reliance Jio Services, Shantanu Bose informed that Jio services to Tawang were delayed because, out of 168 kms fiber route from Bomdila to Tawang, 100 kms of fiber route got damaged in Baisakhi – Tawang span due to landslides and road widening works.
“The Reliance Jio will keep on working to connect the entire Tawang district digitally with the rest of the nation very soon,” he assured.
