Jammu: The First Secretary of Political Affairs, United States, Gary B. Applegarth on Thursday called upon former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Dr Nirmal Singh at his Nagrota-based residence here in the city outskirts.
Applegarth was accompanied by Abhiram G, Political Specialist, USA Embassy.
Dr Singh and the US representatives discussed the situation of Jammu and Kashmir post Abrogation of Article 370.
“We had detailed deliberations on the prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir with respect to restoration of peace and developmental works taking place across the Union Territory,” Dr Singh said.
He added that they also discussed positivity in the approach of Kashmiri Youth, restoration of confidence among the public, zero stone pelting incidents, prospects for new investments and investors.
“The role of frustrated Pakistan in misleading the Kashmiri youth, issues like PoJK, Balochistan were among important discussed with them,” said the former DyCM.
He added that Indo-US relations with regard to development, peace and India from the US point of view on Jammu and Kashmir were also discussed threadbare. UNI
