Govt calls special Parliament session from Sep 18-22

New Delhi: A special session of Parliament has been convened from September 18 to 22, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said on Thursday.

In a post on micro-blogging platform X, Pralhad said, “The Special Session of Parliament (13th Session of 17th Lok Sabha and 261st Session of Rajya Sabha) is being called from September 18th to 22 having 5 sittings”.

“Amid Amrit Kaal looking forward to having fruitful discussions and debates in Parliament,” Joshi said.

Earlier, the monsoon session of Parliament, which began on July 20, concluded on August 11.

During the monsoon session, the Lok Sabha passed 22 bills while the Rajya Sabha cleared 25. Both Houses approved 23 Bills.

The monsoon session witnessed acrimonious exchanges between the government and the opposition I.N.D.I.A. (Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance) bloc, primarily over the issue of ethnic violence in Manipur.

I.N.D.I.A also introduced a no-confidence motion against the Modi government, which was defeated with the opposition walking out of the Lok Sabha during prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address.
