Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir State Investigation Agency (SIA) on Thursday arrested eight absconding militants and their associates involved in militancy related incidents and activities and TADA cases registered against them in Doda district.
Official spokesman said that the arrested persons were booked around three decades ago in different Police Stations of district Doda and were absconding.
They were arrested after the assistance of the CID inputs.
“The absconding militants had managed to escape and by remaining untraced they were leading a normal life with families,” the spokesman said, adding that some of them also have managed to get government services and contracts.
The apprehended absconded militants include Adil Farooq Faridi of Jammu (Government employee), Mohd. Iqbal alias Javed, resident of Doda; Mujahid Hussain alias Nisar Ahmed, resident of Doda; Tariq Hussain, resident of Doda; Ishtiaq Ahmed Dev alias Ajaz, resident of Doda; Ajaz Ahmed alias Mohd. Iqbal, resident of Bhaderwah; Jameel Ahmed alias Jugnu alias Chika Khan, resident of Bhaderwah and Ishfaq Ahmed, resident of Doda.
They said that the arrested militants will be produced before the TADA / POTA Court Jammu in pursuance of warrants issued against them.
