Improve training programmes for getting jobs: Com Sec to ITI and Polytechnic college heads

Srinagar: J&K’s Commissioner Secretary, Skill Development Department Saurabh Bhagat on Friday urged the ITI and Polytechnic college heads to improve training programmes by adopting new techniques and methodologies to ensure passouts get jobs in prestigious companies.
He also appreciated the role of Director Skill Development in exploring and providing job opportunities to pass out candidates from ITIs and Polytechnic colleges from J&K.
This he said while reviewing the working of ITIs and Polytechnic colleges during a meeting in Srinagar.
A statement said the Director Skill Development, J&K, Sudershan Kumar gave a detailed presentation regarding ongoing civil works under Capex for ITIs & Polytechnic, training schemes, admissions, court cases, present status of implementation of schemes – STRIVE, PPP scheme, model ITI, among others.
Commissioner Secretary also e-inaugurated several projects of ITIs and polytechnic colleges.
The appointment letters to the batch of students from ITI were issued for their placements in ITC Company.
The HR manager from ITC Company was also present who said that they have already engaged 66 students from ITIs in ITC Company.
Bhagat appreciated the role of Director Skill Development in exploring and providing job opportunities to pass out candidates from ITIs and Polytechnic through the UT of J&K.
The Commissioner Secretary lauded the role of ITC Company for giving opportunity to ITI students for working in their prestigious organization and also urged the ITI and Polytechnic heads to improve the training program by adopting new techniques and methodology.
He also released a new logo for the Directorate of Skill Development. .
