Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Friday advanced 192.79 pts to 66,458.29 in the opening session following gains in power, utilities, real estate, and capital goods stocks.
The Nifty rose 50.90 points to 19,777.95.
The midcap moved up by 0.49 percent and the small cap by 0.55 percent.
In 30 scrips, 21 advanced while 9 declined.
The gainers were NTPC by 2.99 pc to Rs 241.15, Bajaj Finserv by 2.34 pc to Rs 1554.90, L&T by 1.61 pc to Rs 2892.95, and Powergrid by 1.56 pc to Rs 260.45.
The losers were Wipro by 0.40 pc to Rs 430.90, TCS by 0.18 pc to Rs 3449.45, ITC by 0.13 pc to Rs 445.15, and Sun Pharma by 0.12 pc to Rs 1131.75.
