G20 dinner : Nitish kept ‘national interest above domestic politics’: Sushil Modi

Patna: Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP Rajya Sabha member Sushil Kumar Modi on Sunday appreciated Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for attending G-20 dinner, saying ‘he kept National interest above domestic politics’.

Modi said here that it was good to see that Chief Minister Kumar kept national interest above domestic politics by attending the G-20 dinner hosted by President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi on Saturday night.

It was distressing to note that Ministers of Nitish cabinet did not show the political wisdom and made statements against the mega event of G-20, which was a matter of pride of the country, he remarked.

The Senior BJP leader played down the issue of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi not being invited for the G-20 dinner, saying even ruling party National president J P Nadda was not invited for the event.

It was a government function and Chief Ministers of states ruled by all parties including Congress, were invited for the dinner, Modi pointed out.
