China, US hold first round of maritime consultations in Beijing

Beijing: China and the United States held the first round of consultations on maritime affairs on Friday in Beijing, the state-run China Central Television (CCTV) reported.

The talks were reportedly co-chaired by Hong Liang, Director General of the Department of Boundary and Ocean Affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, and US State Department China Coordinator Mark Lambert.

No further details were immediately available.
