Kolkata: A Special court in the city on Monday extended the existing Enforcement Directorate (ED) remand to arrested West

Bengal’s minister for another week after he was being produced in the Bankshall Court,
official sources said.

State forest minister Mallick, who was the former food minister, wasarrested after marathon questioning by the federal investigation agency at his house on October 27 for his alleged link in foodgrains scam (statutory ration) during the Covid

period, court sources said.

The counsel for ED in the court sought seven more days remand and the special court agreed since the opponent ( advocates of the minister) did not oppose the further ED remand, they said.

“ I am not well, ” said the forest minister while being brought out of Enforcement Directorate (ED)’s CGO office at Salt Lake for
production before the special court
at Dalhousie Square.
