Jammu: The troops of Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday defused a mortar shell found in an agriculture field along the International Border in Arnia sector of Jammu.
Police sources said that the BSF troops recovered the mortar shell after getting information from a local and rushed to the spot.
They successfully defused the shell in the fields and averted a major tragedy in the area, said police.
Earlier, on October 31, one mortar shell was detected and defused in the Arnia sector that recently witnessed an unprovoked firing by the Pakistan Rangers in which four BSF troops sustained injuries.
