Srinagar: J&K Police on Wednesday arrested four drug peddlers including a wanted woman peddler in the twin district of Baramulla and Kulgam.
Police Station Boniyar received reliable information regarding the presence of contraband in a residential house at Trikanjan Boniyar.
Accordingly, a police party raided the said house and recovered 60 grams of Heroin from the possession of a lady identified as Farhat Begum alias Fancy wife of Rayees Ahmad Khan resident of Trikanjan Boniyar.
She has been arrested and shifted to PS Boniyar where she remains in custody.
Police in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district during a checkpoint established at Katran Crossing intercepted a vehicle with three persons on board.
The occupants were identified as Malkit Singh a resident of Kalar Chogawan Amritsar, Malkit Singh of Kotla doom, Amritsar and Rouf Ahmad Ahanger a resident of Katran, Bumthan.
During search, officers were able to recover 3.2Kgs of Poppy Straw like contraband substance from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law stand registered against the drug peddlers and further investigation is in progress.
Meanwhile, Police in Bandipora received a confirmation order for freezing seven bank accounts of a notorious narcotics smuggler & his family from the competent authority.
Confirmation order for the freezing of seven bank accounts having savings of Rs 9,60,759 belonging to a narcotics smuggler Khursheed Ahmad Waza a resident of Bagh Bandipora & his family was received today from the Competent Authority & Administrator, SAFEM (New Delhi).
All these liquid assets were acquired by the accused through the sale of illegal narcotic substances, Police said.
