Indians sold cars worth Rs 1,760 cr during festive season

Mumbai: Indians sold cars worth Rs 1,760 crore this festive season and 87 per cent Indians chose petrol-powered cars during the period, a report by CARS24 said on Saturday.
In Mumbai and Pune, Ganesh Chaturthi saw a two-fold increase in car purchases, with the WagonR and Honda City leading the way.
Ahmedabad and Delhi also embraced the festive spirit during Navratri, experiencing a 67 per cent rise in car sales during the celebration, especially for the Grand I10 and Baleno.
Hatchbacks took impressive 65 per cent of the total sales share.
With four cars being sold to CARS24 every 10 minutes, it recorded 88 per cent increase in the sale of used cars in India as compared to the festive season last year (Onam-Diwali).
On an average, Rs 4.7 crore worth of loans were disbursed daily on used cars this festive season, the report added.
