Srinagar: Cold conditions prevailed in Kashmir valley with fog engulfed at isolated places including Dal Lake in Srinagar amid dry weather on Sunday.
Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Sunday predicted weather to remain dry over Jammu and Kashmir with morning fog at isolated places over the plains of Kashmir division during the next 24 hours.
The weather was dry with cloudy sky in Srinagar coupled with haze and fog engulfed at many places of Srinagar including famous Dal Lake and Boulevard road that affected the visibility in the area today.
The tourists on the Boulevard road on the banks of Dal Lake were seen wearing warm clothes including headgears boarding the vehicles for the sightseeing.
The minimum temperature in Srinagar, the summer capital of the Jammu and Kashmir, was recorded at 1.6 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature was recorded at 12.6 degree Celsius on Sunday.
Qazigund on Srinagar-Jammu national recorded a minimum of 1.8 degree Celsius on Sunday.
Tourist hot spot of Pahalgam in south Kashmir was the coldest place with minimum temperature recorded at -2.0, Kupwara 1.2 ,Kokernag 1.8 and the ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir 1.0 degree Celsius on Sunday, MeT office said.
